HOUSTON — So I get to the Memphis airport today and discover that I actually was on the same flight as the Tigers down to Houston. I knew they were flying commercial for this trip, but I didn’t know the flight I booked was the same one the team was on.

The flight was on a Canadair Regional Jet, which I’m sure those of you who travel frequently are familiar with. Let’s just say they’re not custom-made for people in the 6-5 to 7-foot range.

It was actually kind of comical to board the plane and see Kareem Cooper try to configure himself in a comfortable way in one of those small seats. As I walked by him, I said, “They probably don’t have many 6-11 guys on planes like this.” He responded that he was actually 7 feet and that his 6-11 listing was wrong.

Who was I to argue?
