Sorry about the technical difficulties in the first half folks. Seems the wireless access around here in Middle Tennessee State’s Murphy Center is pretty weak.
We’re going old school with the dial-up, but hopefully we’ll still be able to keep you updated.
Right now we’re at halftime, with the game tied at 19.
Washington is shooting the ball at an amazing 61.5 percent clip (8-of-13), but has been outrebounded, 12-0, on the offensive glass and, 18-9, overall. Livingston Academy, led by Alison West’s seven points, is shooting just 30 percent (9-of-30).

Still 19-19…..Tiesha Hughes just missed layup that would’ve given Washington its first lead. The Lady Warriors have trailed by as many as six points in both the first and second quarters.

LA ball leading, 21-20…..both teams taking a lot of time offensively. content to run game time off the clock….we’re down to 3:49 now and LA still has the ball

Alison west 3-pointer gives LA a 24-20 lead…Hughes misses 3 on other end…Washington gets ball back on turnover, but Hughes misses lay-up…..2:57 left now and still Washington ball. Hughes took a shot on layup attempt and heads to bench.

Two Mallie Stephens’ FTs make it 26-20 LA, matching biggest lead. Washington was 0-of-7 in third quarter before Hughes’ 3-pointer makes it 26-23. LA’s Kendria Kilgore scores on other end to make it, 28-23.

Kilgore’s putback makes it, 30-24, LA……Monique Ingram misses on other end, and Kilgore adds another putback for LA to make it 32-24….LA’s biggest lead.

Valencia Tucker’s bucket in the paint has pulled Washington within six points. Latrice Bayman leads the Lady Warriors with nine points. Tucker now has six…..rebounding number now 27-15 in favor of LA.

Hughes called for pushing foul with 5:04 left in quarter. That’s Washington’s fifth team foul of half. Livingston has committed seven. Lady Warriors just 3-of-15 in this half. LA’s Alison West makes layup on other end to make it 34-28 Lady Bears…..just a six point lead, but in a slow-paced game like this, it must feel like a mountain to Washington.

West steps to line again after Warriors’ Bayman makes 1-of-2 at line to close gap to 11…..West makes first, makes second…now 43-30 LA….Monique Ingram makes 3 on other end to make it 43-33 now with 32.8 left, but it’s too little, too late for Washington
