OK, Jacksonville State.

I’ll give you Jacksonville State, which lost its opener last week at Alabama State.

Besides the lone NCAA Division 1-AA program on the University of Memphis’s schedule, the Tigers’ non-league opponents suddenly have become rather challenging.

Last weekend, it was Arkansas State taking a fourth-ranked Texas team down to the final minute before falling, 21-13. Had a questionable call that disallowed an Indian recovered onside kick not been made, who knows what ASU would have done? Perhaps they would have shared ESPN SportsCenter time with Appalachian State.

Thursday night, it was Middle Tennessee State, whom the Tigers play Oct. 13, trading touchdowns with No. 8 Louisville for most of the game before succumbing. It was 38-35 Louisville at the half.
