Nearly 400 anglers from 24 states will take part in the Crappie USA Classic Oct. 12-13 on Kentucky Lake.

The fishing should be outstanding by then, and I expect a lot of fish to be caught. There may not be any huge crappie brought to the scales because big crappie are hard to find during the fall. But I expect good numbers for all of the anglers.

The teams will be fishing for a seven-fish limit of crappie each day. The tournament weigh-ins will be held on Oct. 12-13 at Paris Landing State Park beginning at 3 p.m.

The weigh-ins are free and open to the public. So if you’re gonna be up that way, you should check it out.
