Does any of this sound familiar?

Nebraska fans, supporters and alumni are screaming at the top of their lungs this morning. Nebraska should not lose to Missouri much less by 35 points.

USC drops one to….get this….Stanford. This is simply an unforgivable offense by Pete Carroll and his staff.

Central Florida goes into the Greenville, NC and gets manhandled by ECU. That simply shouldn’t have happened because the coaches should have had the Knights better prepared.

Every football expert on the planet both professional and amatuer would say that Southern Miss is a much better team than Rice. But the Golden Eagles turn the ball over 7 times and lose the the “inferior” Owls. Come on Bower you should have prevented those turnovers.

The national media darling South Florida struggles to get past Florida Atlantic. Oh my goodness, the Bulls are a fluke after all.

A struggling Tennessee team whips up on 12th ranked Georgia. What were Mark Richt and his staff doing? How could they have let the Bulldogs slip to lose to an undoublty weaker Volunteer team?

And all this just happened in the last 3 days. It is indicative of what is going on in NCAA football where no team is safe. It is called parity. It also shows us that waiting to judge a team at the end of a season is the smartest thing to do. But then again, what do I know I had USC and gave the points. That’s a joke, I don’t bet on sports. And that’s another story for another day.

Tennessee is undoubtedly weaker than Georgia? Undoubtedly?? That’s kind of a strong statement and rather impossible to defend. Did you watch the game? Did you notice Georgia getting blown off the line on both sides of the ball? Line play has always been one of the best indicators of team strength, and to suggest Georgia is even in the same league with Tennessee after Saturday’s beatdown is going to require a heck of an argument. Find me a two loss team with a more excusable record than Tennessee; losing to Cal and Florida on the road isn’t exactly unexpected for anyone other than USC and LSU. Sure, I doubted the Vols quite a bit before this weekend, but now I think it’s safe to say that they do have a pretty solid team. They control their own destiny in the East now, and they really look like they have a shot to do something with that.

Also, South Florida isn’t a fluke until they, um, lose. Everybody plays a bad game occasionally; the ability to pull out a win anyway is the mark of a good team.

And finally, if Rice really is so much worse than Southern Miss why did you put ‘inferior’ in quotation marks?

It’s called sarcasm.
