Sorry I haven’t been writing much lately but I was surfing and scuba diving in Hawaii with my family. A man has to have his priorities after all.

While I was on vacation the Grizzlies started working on their careers in Spain. After a hot and cold night against Unicaja Malaga that resulted in the Grizzlies losing by 3 points, the team rebounded and handedly took care of Estudiantes. The split was acceptable but no team that has lost to an European squad in the pre-season has ever made the playoffs. Something to keep in mind.

The Grizz hit the court tonight against the Minnesota TimberWolves. The TWolves have struggled to gain an identity since trading Kevin Garnett this summer to Boston. There is the usual write up on Shades of Blue discussing the game for those interested in reading it.

Darko Milicic got some good press from an unusual source this week when the Canadian Press wrote Darko Trying to Jump Start his Career. It is a friendly piece but doesn’t dodge his reputation as one of the legendary busts in the NBA Draft nor his attitude issues.

Damon Stoudamire is only looking over his shoulder at two lightning quick young point guards now. He no longer has to worry about the police as well as his arrest on marijuana possession has been put to bed. Arrested in Arizona back in 2003 for less than half an ounce of marijuana (don’t wrap it in tin foil and go through a metal detector by the way) Damon has reached a settlement in the matter so it is behind him as long as he keeps his nose clean (and no that isn’t a refernce to another popular party drug.

Speaking of Damon there is a nice article from the Toronto Star talking about his situation in Memphis. He still calls Toronto the best times of his career but at least he isn’t demanding a trade out of town…yet. I still believe he won’t be in Beale St Blue come March 1st but it is only my opinion right now.

I will try and write a recap of tonight’s game but it may be mid-day tomorrow before it gets up in the site. I am still suffering some effects from jet lag after all.
