The National Championships for Field Trialing Bird Dogs are now less than a week away, and there are some familiar names on the list for the annual competition at Ames Plantation.

Steve Hurdle, the 2006 national championship trainer, has two dogs in this year’s competition, including Shell Creek Coin, the dog he won with in 2006.

Robin Gates, Colvin Davis and Larry Huffman each have three dogs in the event.
