I spent Friday night at the annual Ducks Unlimited sponsor banquet at DU National Headquarters in Memphis.

As usual, it was a fantastic event.

There were a lot of great people there, including Ducks Unlimited Executive Vice President Don Young.

The auction items were incredible as always, and I’ll be really interested to see how much money they raised in the name of conservation. One shotgun actually sold during the live auction for $3,700, and numerous items sold for $1,000 or more.

Almost everyone there left with something, whether it came from the live auction, the silent auction or the raffle.

Everyone also left full. The menu featured garlic-encrusted beef that was outstanding and Jalapeno duck poppers that I could probably live on exclusively for the rest of my life.

It was a great evening - and it was all for the ducks.
