I got an e-mail today from Kim Mattiuz, the owner and operator of Wyatt Crossing Outdoors on Sardis Lake.

She’ll be re-opening the bait shop March 1. She’ll only be open on weekends to start with. But if the crowds are big enough, she may start opening during the week as well.

The boat launch is always open even when the store is closed. You just have to put your money in an envelope and stick it in the honor box.

But it’s really nice when Kim has the store open in case you forget some of your fishing supplies (which I do pretty much every trip).

I’ve always had good luck catching white bass down there. This year, I’m determined to find the crappie.

“I’ve had all I can stand. I can’t stands no more.” People need to get off this idea that the Tigers were more or even 50% at fault Saturday night. Were they partially at fault? Yep. But were they the driving force in the melee that followed the game Saturday night in Birmingham. Well, they kinda sorta were as they ruined the UAB celebration but they didn’t deserve what they got from the UAB fans and students. And they definitely aren’t deserving of all this holier than thou criticism that many are tossing at them.
