Central High senior guard Clantina Stewart has committed to play basketball next season at Middle Tennessee State University, according to Stewart’s head coach, Niki Bray.

Stewart, a 5-6 standout who averaged 16.4 points per game for the Lady Warriors during the regular season, made an unofficial visit to Murfreesboro last week. She will sign with the Blue Raiders on April 16.

Stewart led the Lady Warriors to a 23-8 record this season and the District 16-AAA tournament title.

According to an email I received earlier this week, the Quality Deer Management Association recently achieved a new level of weirdness with an auction item at one of its charity banquets.

In September, the email says, QDMA’s Lanier Branch held a banquet to raise money to help cover processing costs for donated venison.

One of the auction items was a vasectomy.

That’s what it said…a vasectomy.

If that’s true, it trumps any auction item at any charity banquet I’ve ever attended.

I wonder what the high bid was.

I wonder if it was purchased by a man or by someone’s wife or girlfriend.

If it was purchased by a lady, I wonder if she purchased it for immediate use or to hold as really cruel leverage over her significant other. “You stay home this weekend, or…”

Oh well, every little contribution helps, I guess.
