CLARIFICATION ON SEEDING: In this bracket, North Carolina is the overall No. 1 seed. I bracket on the S-curve and my seeding of the top 8 teams are as follows
1 NORTH CAROLINA
2 MEMPHIS
3 TENNESSEE
4 UCLA
5 KANSAS
6 TEXAS
7 DUKE
8 GEORGETOWN
I do not expect the top eight teams to look exactly the same by Selection Sunday. Tennessee and UCLA, in my estimation, must win their conference tournaments to secure a No. 1 seed. Otherwise, the winner of the Big 12 Tournament (either Kansas or Texas) will take one one.

I haven’t processed all the ins and outs of the whole thing, but I have to say good call on the draws and the geography. That’s the way it should be done…
How can we get the selection committee to pay attention to home crowds for lower seeds after the 1st weekend? (I think the 1st 2 rounds are all that’s covered in the criteria).

Dan, Does that mean you think Mississippi State is definitely in? Where do you see them being seeded? My wife wants to know.

San Diego’s win over Gonzaga last night threw wheat germ in the yogurt. That basically means somebody like Syracuse, Villanova, Miami, Ohio St., etc. won’t make it in.
I hate conference tourneys. They are a waste of time. If we need to crown a champion, why did we play a conference schedule? Basically all the tourneys do is give an unworthy team a shot at being where they don’t belong.
Of course, I know the real reason - money. IMHO that’s prostituting the game and the NCAA tournament by having teams in the field that don’t deserve to be there.
I’m done with this mini rant.

Ya know, MoonDog, some people LIKE wheat germ in their yogurt. I’m not a fan myself, but the point still stands.

I don’t know which of your 8-9 matchups is the tougher. I do think UNLV vs Oklahoma would be the easiest. Kentucky and KS State can definitely play ask Tennessee and Kansas.

Tennessee beat Memphis on their home court primetime ESPN gameday in front of the world, how the … are they above the Vols?

UT lost to NCAA tourney teams on the road. I know this is a hard concept for you to grasp, but is not easy to beat NCAA tourney teams in their home arena. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think the tigers have done that all season.

I didn’t have any updates the last two days; nothing changed in the bracket except Mt. St. Mary’s rather than Sacred Heart as a conference champion. I’ll update in the morning when the dust has settled on a busy day today with many impactful games.
