The referees just screwed up and made the Tigers walk to their end of the floor, as if shooting a free throw after the sixth foul. But since the Tigers weren’t in the bonus, they had to walk back to the other end and throw it in. That just gave the crowd more ammunition to blast the referees. They aren’t fans, as the sarcastic quote above shouted by the fan sitting right behind me proves.

A scuffle under the basket results in a double technical, Shawn Taggart for the Tigers and Demar DotsonĀ for the Golden Eagles. Calipari erupted at the call, with two Tigers quickly moving into place to help shield him from the referees. The next Tiger foul puts Southern Miss in the bonus with 13 minutes left to play. And they’re still perfect from the line, hitting all 18 tries.

Dozier just got his third and is going to the bench. The fans are bellowing “BOO!” as loud as they can. The Tigers will have to try and overcome the loss of Dozier for the next few minutes: he has nine rebounds already. The next highest total from any Tiger? Two.
Southern Miss called a timeout, so Tiger fans saved their voices and quieted down. But as soon as play resumed, the “BOOS” flew loudly again.
And now Dorsey has his third foul, also sending him to the bench. Dozier is replacing him, but will have to be extremely careful not to get his fourth, since we still have 16 minutes to play in the game.

Last night, former Tigers Dajuan Wagner, Dexter Reed and Clyde Wade came to watch the Tigers rout Tulane.
Today, I’m standing in front of an elevator in the bowels of FedExForum, and when the doors open, guess who walks off? Penny Hardaway and Leon Mitchell.
Everyone remembers Penny, but Mitchell was one of those do-everything, work-his-butt-off players that Tiger fans just adored. In many ways, Andre Allen on this year’s team is following in Mitchell’s footsteps. Glad to see him back.
