The Associated Press released the first high school football poll on Tuesday and the highest ranked team is MUS in the Division 2 poll. The Owls are ranked No. 4. Also ranked in the D2 poll were CBHS at No. 5 and Briarcrest at No. 8.

In Class 5A, Millington is No. 5 and Whitehaven is No. 7. Fairley and Melrose are ranked No. 7 and 8 in Class 4A.

No area teams were ranked in Class 3A, 2A or A.
