After two rounds of the Stren Series Central Division bass tournament on Lake of the Ozarks, two of the top three spots still belong to anglers from West Tennessee.
Michael Wooley of Collierville caught 15 pounds, 8 ounces of bass Thursday and hung onto the lead with a two-day total of 32-10. Wooley leads Missouri angler Wes Endicott (29-11) by nearly three pounds.
Zack Bull of Lakeland remains in third place after a catch of 12-12 Thursday. His two-day total is 28-13.
Bull holds the third spot despite catching only four fish during Wednesday’s opening round.
If the tournament is decided by ounces, that one fish may come back to haunt him.

The Stren Series second-round weigh-in from Lake of the Ozarks will kick off in less than an hour with two Mid-South anglers in the top five.
Michael Wooley of Collierville caught five bass that weighed 17 pounds, 2 ounces on Wednesday to take the first-round lead. He’s followed by Missouri angler Wes Endicott with 16-6 and Zack Bull of Lakeland with 16-1.
I haven’t met Michael Wooley, but I’ve been seeing his name in the standings for years. According to Wooley’s personal web page at FLW Outdoors, he’s fished 43 events since 2003.
I’ve been lucky enough to talk with Zack Bull several times through the years, and he’s a really nice young angler.
You can watch the weigh-in live at 3 p.m. on flwlive.com.
I’ll also post an update on The Memphis Edge as soon as the Day 2 results are finalized.

- I’ve talked to a bunch of people who saw Darnell Dodson play some basketball during his visit last weekend, and every one of them has said the same thing: He can flat-out play. This will be one of the more interesting situations to monitor as the year goes on because the Tigers are getting a guy who is essentially unknown. Obviously, he signed with Pitt out of high school, so he’s not a total reach. But he redshirted at junior college last year, so it’s been a long time since he was evaluated by anybody. There was obviously something that John Calipari saw in him initially, but several folks saw it too last weekend.
- Anybody who thinks Tyreke Evans is going to be a chemistry problem or is inherently a selfish player has bought into a mythological narrative and should be dismissed out of hand. I have watched the Tigers work out several times now - most recently on Tuesday - and this entire notion becomes more ridiculous to me every time I see him.
