- I’ve talked to a bunch of people who saw Darnell Dodson play some basketball during his visit last weekend, and every one of them has said the same thing: He can flat-out play. This will be one of the more interesting situations to monitor as the year goes on because the Tigers are getting a guy who is essentially unknown. Obviously, he signed with Pitt out of high school, so he’s not a total reach. But he redshirted at junior college last year, so it’s been a long time since he was evaluated by anybody. There was obviously something that John Calipari saw in him initially, but several folks saw it too last weekend.
- Anybody who thinks Tyreke Evans is going to be a chemistry problem or is inherently a selfish player has bought into a mythological narrative and should be dismissed out of hand. I have watched the Tigers work out several times now - most recently on Tuesday - and this entire notion becomes more ridiculous to me every time I see him.

I could not agree with you more. Darnell is going to be a welcome addition to the Tiger Empire!!! lol
Also, I’ve never believed any that crap about Reke being selfish. The moment one of the top recruits in the nation take a serious look at the Tigers, the negativity begins. I am just so sick of this type of character assassination by those bias analysts toward these kids.

I wrote on an earlier blog - I am not sure why the school isn’t really talking about it, but it’s happening.
On the other hand, the apparel deal is a very “inside baseball” kind of thing. Whether the team is wearing adidas or Nike is only consequential to the hardest of the hard-cores.

dan do you have any current info on simpkins and garcia? nike has been in the works for bout two seasons. i have close source that is high up with the company and thats the news i was given bout two years ago. nike only markets programs bascially that will be in the quote spotlight in which that puts the nike name out there even more.

No recruits this weekend - school is on fall break, and most of the players are going home.
Garcia will almost certainly be cleared, I’m hearing. Simpkins? It’s probably 50-50.
