Now I’m over in section 230 with a huge group from Wincester Elementary, part of Nike’s Let Me Play program. Got a nice round of applause and recognition for the kids with 5:46 left in the game, just after the first team came out - for the final time?
One minute to play. Final question - who will be MVP? If I had a vote (which I don’t) it’d be for DRose for that one sequence where he blocked a shot, caused a miss then started a break back the other way. But that’s just me.

Jody’s sitting courtside, and I’m just bopping around the arena, catching all the different angles. Right now, from section 222, row P, things are looking pretty good (if you’re a Tigers fan, that is).
Of course, the Tulsa faithful are still going strong. They got here for the first game on Wednesday and they’re still here for the last game today - decked out in their cool tie-dyed shirts and still hoping their boys can make a little run. Either way, they should be proud that they made it to the final.

And I’m not the only one — as I’m on my way to Alcenia’s for some of B.J.’s best breakfast in town, the Tulsa pep band and cheerleaders are raising the spirits of their team and fans as the players file out of the Marriott Downtown right at the stroke of 9 on their way to FedExForum. Are they sleepy? Doesn’t look like it to me. This team has been playing since the first game on Wednesday, and I think they’re still hungry. Be on the lookout for a surprise …

So after the Tigers’ (expected) victory over Southern Miss, it looks like I’ll be joining Jody and hundreds of others bright and early Saturday for the championship game. And I’m excited - having just moved to Memphis six months ago, I know I’m in for a real treat.
But first, I’ll be grabbing some breakfast downtown at Alcenia’s - and honestly, I think I might be looking forward to the breakfast biscuits as much as I’m looking forward to the game!
So until tomorrow morning, sleep tight Tiger Nation. We’ll see you bright and early.
